Happy Easter!

Each year, I go to my aunt and uncle's for Easter. It's almost a two hour drive, but well worth it. My aunt goes all out, with games, a pinata, an Easter egg hunt, crafts, yummy food...well, you get the idea. Of course, most of this stuff is for the kids, but the umm...older...I mean, kids at heart adults enjoy it, too. Anyhow, I get my aunt a hostess gift each year because she really spends time and effort, not to mention quite a few pennies, to make it a fun day for everyone. This is the card I made to go with her hostess gift. I don't usually make a card to go with it, but when I got the papers and Magnolia image in a card kit swap with the Magnolia-licous group, it just seemed too good of an opportunity to pass up. The colors for this week's copic color challenge went with the papers so well, too! Oh, and here's the copics I used:
By the way, I am sorry for the crappy picture. The card is a bright pink background. That's purple, shimmery embossed paper behind the Tilda. The flowers are bright pink and light blue. Well, I guess it sure doesn't look that way in this photo, but what's a girl to do? Bad lighting gets me every time. I guess it would also help if I was any good at taking pictures!
Anyway, as always, thanks for checking it out. I really do appreciate each and every comment! Have a happy Easter!

Oops!

I actually got some time to play with my new Tildas this weekend. I received the kitchen paper, blue flower, and little blue dots from a card kit swap with the Magnolia-licious group. The talent in that group is a bit awe-inspiring (not to mention intimidating). I keep seeing all of these truly awesome cards that involve not only the Tildas and Edwins, but also backgrounds and whole scenes. Yeah....maybe I'll try that one of these days! I intend to do it; I really do. I even bought a stove stamp, a kitchen shelf with a canister and bowl of strawberries, and the Crafty Secrets kitchen stamp set. I am all ready with supplies, but I can't wrap my mind around it. It's just so overwhelming to me, but one of these days, I will suck it up and give it a try. Anyhow, since I am still being a coward, this is just a plain old Oops Tilda. No background images. Nothing fancy. I hope you like her. I even remembered to note the copics that I used, since some people have asked me to do that (ahem, Tracy). So, here goes:

hair: Y11, Y21, Y36

skin: E11, E00 with R01 for cheeks

dress: BG000, BG01, BG02 with RV13 for the stripes

hat and socks: RV00, RV000, RV0000

shoes: E31, E33

spoon: E30, E37

eggs: B0000, Y15

outline: C1

Thanks for stopping by. I've got lots of new Tildas in the mail recently, so I hope to color more of them and slap them on some cards soon!

Lolita

This is Lolita, from Guylou's shop (see link on the side of my blog). I paper pieced her dress. She's a sexy diva, wouldn't you say? I think everyone knows how I love cats, so I just love her little regal friend. You can get her very inexpensively by visiting Guylou's shop (link on side of my blog...you get where to get this now, right?). She was fun to color. You could have your own to color. Just go to Guylou's shop (third mention is the charm!). Oh, and if you follow her blog, you get an image for free, too! Got enough incentive yet? Let me say it all for you again: fun image, fun to color, doesn't cost an arm and a leg, get another image free for following G's blog....well, what are you waiting for? Go on over!

Bren's challenge

Sorry it's taken me so long to hop back on here, not that any of you were waiting with bated breath. If you were, you've passed out by now. LOL. Things have been a bit hectic in my bit of overcrowded suburbia. I just got around to creating some cards. Here's one of them. This one is for a challenge that my friend Brenda is hosting within our group. She sent us a kit with a piece of cardstock and a piece of coffee design patterned paper, as well as flowers, ribbon, an image, and sentiments. We got to make something with it. Here's what I did:

I think the image is called Kiki from CC Designs. If I am wrong, someone please correct me. I used my wonderful copics to color her. One of these days, I will get every color! I used E11 and E000 for her face (I have yet to get E00...darnit!). Her cheeks are R01 and highlighted with a white signo pen. Robe is E29 for the trim and B52 for the body of it. Slippers are B52. The little flowers are colored with YR82. Mug is C1 and C3. I think that covers it all! Oh, wait, I totally flubbed up the hair with E15, E17, and E18. She now looks like she is wearing a bad wig! LOL.
Thanks for looking! I do appreciate it. I'm still new to this blog thing and have no idea how to make mine pretty, but that's how it goes.

Happy Saturday!

Ambien is good stuff. I guess I should shut up and not freely advertise for them but it's the first good night's sleep I've gotten in six months! It might explain my bit of hyperactivity today, too. LOL.

Anyhow, the real reason for this post is to show off the designs of my friend Guylou, who recently started a digi stamp store. She's got a large variety of designs and continues to add more on a frequent basis. Right now, we're highlighting an image called "Hush Little Baby." She came along at just the right time. My friend is due this month. Here's the card I made for her to welcome her daughter to the world.

You can find this little cutie here: http://guylousinimitability.blogspot.com

Ok, now I am off to shop! I've got a killer coupon for my birthday and I can't resist coupons!

Help! I killed my blinkie!

So, I tried to cut and paste the HTML code for the Just Magnolia challenge blinkie onto my blog and it cut it in half! Help! How do I fix this? Oh, you smart bloggers, please come out and tell me what to do!

Update: My impatience caused me to post, but I figured it out!!! Thanks for the emails from those trying to help...I just had to play around a bit, but I got it! I think....

Ok, I finally took the leap!

I got a new computer...finally. Mine was only running as slow as dial-up, even though it had a high speed internet connection. The poor thing served me well but was about to keel over, so I finally went to Dell's site and forked over some dough. Thanks to Shane for helping me choose this awesome new machine that sort of scares me with all of its bells and whistles. Now I can visit other blogs without getting kicked out (I hope, and provided that I maintain good behavior!).

Please have patience with me as I figure out how this whole blog thing works. I know there's a few gadgets I need to add...I just have to figure out how. I doubt I'll ever have one of those high tech, pretty blogs, but I can live with that. If I can't embellish my blog, I'll just have to embellish a card or two or three...

Before I forget (I do have some serious swiss cheese brain lately), here's a card that I finished recently. I'm loving Magnolia stamps. It's my friend Brenda's fault since she made such adorable cards with them. I think she has the whole scrappin' derelicts group addicted now. Then I found the Magnolia-licious yahoo group and I was done for. I have since acquired quite a few. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a shopaholic and when I decide I like something, well, one just isn't enough!

And here's a card made for Guylou's DT. She has some adorable digi images on her blog. I'm going to try to get the DT graphic set up on the side, as well as adding the link to her blog, but I might need some help!

Alright, I'll shut up now. That's impressive, because I run my mouth a lot. Goodnight!
