Veteran's Day RAK

It's Sunday and it's Veteran's Day here in the US, when we honor all of our military, past and present, for their dedication, commitment, courage and sacrifice. As you all know, I like to support military causes. Today, I finished packing up my care package for my soldier and yesterday, I ordered some girl scout cookies that I'm going to send out his way, too. Who doesn't love Girl Scout cookies? Tell me something you have done for our military in the last few months. I don't just mean sending cards or care packages (although that's awesome, too), I also mean any kind of support - are you a military mom, aunt, grandma, dad or grandpa? Did you verbally thank a soldier that you saw in the mall? Did you hug a soldier's family member or listen while they vented their fears? Are you a soldier yourself? Tell me what you did for a soldier and I'm going to randomly draw a special RAK for one lucky person on Saturday, November 17th at 8:00 pm. No need to be a follower of my blog, although that's nice. No need to post anything on your sidebar. No need to have a blog of your own. Just post a comment about how you support our military (include your email, so I can contact you if you win). Anyone who knows me knows that my RAKs aren't small. I like to shop and the scrapbook store down the street is having a killer sale...

***okay, ladies! The winner is Kim!!! I will be sending you the RAK within the next few days, I hope. Roxann, Tracy, and Trina, there might be a little something coming your way, too (although Kim wins the larger RAK, I wanted to show my appreciation to you guys, as well)***

I consider myself lucky to 1 live in Tucson with Davis Montham Air Force Base right here and Ft Huachuca not that far away and 2 we have ALOT of cutomers that are in the military and/or retired. So I get to deal with a lot of peole from the military. We as a company give military discounts and every chance I get I thank them for their service...a few months ago I had an older gelntleman that seved in Viet Nam and we got to talking...we call each other every few weeks to see how the other is doing. Anyway I know it is just a small thing. HUGS Kim

My Dad was a 20 year military man. (Army) I live at Ft. Benning's door, so my husband and I participate in a lot of their activities. We belong to and ride with the local Harely Owner's Group and we sponsor some events at Ft. Benning for the vets and the House of Heroes. I am very proud of our US Military! Thanks for bringing attention to our vets!

Like Vicky, I can't say that I've done much. My parents are both veterans. The best I can say is that I drove my mom out to get some free Veteran's Day food on Monday! :D OMG, we went to this buffet that was giving vets a free meal BUT these folks said people didn't need to show ID. The line was wrapped around the building and into the next building's parking lot!! Needless to say, we rolled out! We ended up meeting my father for Red Lobster a little bit up the street. They had free apps for vets so it still worked out... I know, rambling. But that's because we're friends! :-*

I have not done as much as I should for sure. I did thank my cousin and my aunt both for their service and told them how much I appreciate their service as well as prayed for soldiers there now. I really should be more like you and get stuff sent to them. I know how much that must mean to these soldiers so far from home. You inspire me to do better. Maybe that can be my New Year's resolution. Thanks girl for pushing me to do better. Thanks for the chance at the RAK too :)

YAY! Congrats Kim! Gina girl... you are so generous.
Can you send me the link via e-mail again of the place you adopted a soldier from? It was not Operation Wrote Home was it?

GINA!! You are so sweet!! I got my wonderful pack o' goodies on Saturday! It was completely unexpected. (Reader doesn't tell you if a post has been updated, so I didn't see your note until just now...) Thank you so much!

Totally unrelated, but the last two times I went to Kohl's they had this sign on clearance that I want to get you BUT I think it will cost like triple the price to ship it. It's a little hanging sign that says, "THE WITCH IS IN/OUT" with a little hat in the corner and a broom hanging underneath. My mom looked at me like I was insulting you when I told her I wanted to get it for you. :D

Alright-y, now that I've written you a whole letter (!), I will wish you a wonderful day and be off! XOXO
