Gettin' sketchy for All that Scraps

I didn't have much energy today. I cleaned the downstairs and said to heck with the rest of the house. I guess I might have to tackle it tomorrow. I felt better about making another card after I cleaned, though. Not as guilty or lazy or something! I completed a card using sketch #71 at Get Sketchy. I only recently found this challenge blog and this is the first time I've actually participated. I love sketch challenges, but I've said that before, so I'll shut up about it now. This card is also for the week 63 challenge at All that Scraps, to make a Valentine's Day card. I don't usually make those. Now that my husband has passed away and we didn't have any children (unless you count the furbabies), I really don't have any use for lovey dovey cards. Even when Rick was alive, we didn't really celebrate Valentine's Day. We'd give a card, but that was it. So, needless to say, I'm not the best at making Valentine's Day cards, and I usually avoid challenges that require me to do so. I mean, I avoid those suckers like the plague! However, I got together with a friend the other night and she was talking about some of the pitfalls of being single. I decided to cheer her up by sending a card for Valentine's Day. She's always talking about how she loves my cards and how they always make her smile. Now I suppose I'm going to end up making cards for some other friends, too. I don't know, though. We'll see! It seems like such a daunting task and I don't want to set that expectation (doesn't that sound like a good excuse???). In the mean time, here's my card using Fall Brigitta from CC Designs.
The card is a bit brighter in real life. The image is colored with copics, per my usual. I don't think I color with any other mediums now. Each time I think about branching out, I run right back to my copics! I guess I need to get my money's worth out of them. More likely, I just like to stick to my comfort zone. Anyhow, the heart punches are Martha Stewart. The papers are K&Co. Cardstock is Bazzill, because I just love the texture and thickness of it. Thanks for stopping by. If you see more Valentine's Day cards, be a bit shocked, but try not to act like it. I mean, I really hate making them. If you don't see any, leave me alone about it, k? I can get snarky, release my flying monkeys, and pretty much let the witchy side loose. Don't say you haven't been warned. (wink)
